  5. Commander Rules!
    1. What is the stable?
      1. It’s a place to keep the decks you play often, up-to-date.
        1. This is not for ALL of your decks (unless you only have a few decks)
        2. I have like 25 decks, and I’m not proposing to keep up with all of them, I’m proposing that you select the true gems, the ones you you always have fun playing, and thinking about
        1. This can be nice if you have decks in many different tools, such as Tappedout, or Archidekt, or the new Scryfall Deck Editor
      2. It’s a single place you can access that has all your decks in one place.
      3. There’s a social component to the stable as well. I propose that folks can share their Stable with other people, and that it can be a way to let other people (in person and on the internet) get to know them. A business card that you can hand to other folks that says “I’m this kind of Commander player!”
      4. I like the idea of doing this because I am constantly updating decks, but don’t have a way to track those changes and if they are improvements or not. Ryan - Historical Data!
        1. The chances of getting a deck exactly the way you want it the first time you play it is pretty slim.
        2. This lets you track what’s working for you and not working for you.
      5. A way to force us to consider upgrading decks
      6. Summary - This probably isn’t a new idea, and it’s probably something that some of you out in audience land already do. I just wanted to establish this idea, and get some conversation around this topic, maybe also establish some common terms we can use in this discussion. Also, I’m really bad at updating decks, and we’ll see this when I get to my personal Stable later this episode
      1. This is player dependant, but the more decks in your stable, probably the less attention you can give to each deck.
      2. Probably no more than 10 depending on how often you play.
    2. How many decks should be in a stable?
      1. Spreadsheets Obvs!
    3. How are we going to keep track of this?
      1. discussion
    4. Always brewing new decks (Ryan) vs Constantly seeking new cards to upgrade current decks (Zack)
      1. Available to the public here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1uWr1dnkuHoyinfyCGf3A2g1WTcTLi6L5
        1. Created 8/22/2019
        2. Recently Updated! (4 cards in, and 4 cards out)
      2. Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer
        1. Created 2/26/2019
        2. There are some new cards I’m really excited to put in here (Tome of Legends and Robber of the Rich). I also know there are a few cards in here which are underperforming, and me getting all analytical about my Stable is going to help me put in the effort to keep the decks I love shiny and performing well
      3. Grenzo, Havoc Raiser
        1. Created 6/17/2017
        2. This was originally a “found deck”
        3. This is one that I’ve added and removed some cards from, but I can’t tell you what they are, because I haven’t been keeping track of it
      4. Gonti, Lord of Luxury
        1. 11/15/2018
        2. This deck is literally unchanged from when I built it. Granted, I had a great starting point to launch from (Thanks Jumbo Commander). This deck is really fun, and I play it all the time, and it deserves some attention.
      5. Braids, Conjurer Adept
        1. 12/18/2015
        2. Last, and definitely not least. This is probably my oldest deck, that I still consistently play. One of the reasons I’m so hesitant to update this deck is that it is one of my favorites, and it’s really hitting the sweet spot between flavor and function, and I don’t want to mess it up. If I keep the historical data, I can always go back to a previous version of the deck, and I don’t have to be scared of messing it up
      6. Jaya Ballard, Task Mage
    5. Ryan’s Stable
      1. Available to the public here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Wkry2pB66Xpj8BR2YfHsKysLMmAq5oV8K58UIYpoVUs

      3. Tatyova, Benthic Druid
        1. Created when Guilds of Ravnica released.
      4. Niv Mizzet, Parun

      6. Yarok
