  4. Ep 74 Community Spotlight:
    1. Magic players can be hard to shop for, and I should know, because I am one. We often take for granted what we like in Magic, but to our friends, family, and partners, it can be a mystery.
      1. This is often times what will get suggested to a non-magic-player, should they go into an LGS and ask “What should I get for the MtG player in my life?”
      2. As a Magic player, I think I genuinely don’t like to get sealed product all that much. I think sealed product is a lot better for newer players, or younger players, as they may not know what they want yet.
        1. Booster packs
          1. Draft Boosters
          2. Collector Boosters
          3. Avoid loose boosters of very old sets!
          1. https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/commander-legends-preconstructed-decks
          2. This can be great, but you want to make sure you’re not getting the MtG player something they already have
        2. Precons, like the Commander decks
          1. https://cardgamebase.com/zendikar-rising-gift-edition-bundle-contents/
          2. These can be good for newer players
          3. I like that it has a collector’s booster in it
          4. I do like the storage box
        3. Holiday Gift Boxes
      3. Sealed product can fall into a couple of different categories
    2. Sealed Product, Boosters, Boxes, etc
      1. This one can be tricky too, because many magic players are kinda “picky” about what kind of accessories they use. Might be a good idea to slide into the DMs of someone you know who plays Magic with your gift-receiver
        1. https://www.originalmagicart.store/
          1. Can also get art prints here (Really nice if you get it framed)
          2. Tokens also. Many Artists have custom tokens for sale as well, like RK Post

    4. Clothing
      1. This can take a bit of work, especially if you don’t know the gift-receiver very well. Plus, there’s always the chance that they trade or buy the cards they want while waiting for the holiday to arrive
        1. Ryan aside here about how I treat myself with these, when I wouldn’t buy cards like Gilded Drake otherwise.

      1. Patrons suggestions
        1. Many patrons suggested the idea of alters. This is a great gift, and it’s really personal, and it can take a long time, so make sure to plan accordingly
          1. https://www.inkedgaming.com/collections/dice-bags
        2. Many also suggested Dice bags
        3. Lenny has a plushie of Grothama that his husband made for him: What an amazing gift!
        4. Really cool examples of some altered art basic lands (which is really cool, cause they can be moved around from deck to deck)

  5. Main Topic - Gifts for the Magic Player in Your Life
    1. It can definitely be tricky to shop for that certain-magic-someone, but maybe there are some good ideas here. Maybe those certain-someones can share this episode with people likely to give them gifts? Folks out in AudienceLand - What is the best MtG gift you’ve ever been given?
